We are at JFK now, waiting to board our flight to Buenos Aires. We got here with plenty of time and the airport was mostly empty, which was nice. The flight to BA is about 11 hours, but we have a laptop loaded with movies and an airplane power adapter, so hopefully it won't be quite so bad.
We'll be doing quit a bit of traveling within Argentina; after just a few days in Buenos Aires we'll be going up to the northwest, and the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. After that we'll go over to Uruguay for a few days, mostly to see lots of relatives I have there. Then down way south to El Calafate and El Chaltén in Patagonia, and finally back to Buenos Aires for the last few days of the trip.
We'll try to keep this blog updated semi-regularly, with photos and all.

Bife de chorizo?
Bife de chorizo is a popular cut of beef in Argentina - thick, and served nice and juicy. It's cheaper than the bife de lomo (filet mignon) but no less satisfying. Despite the "chorizo" in its name, it has nothing to do with sausage!
